The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 72 calls November 7-13. November 7 The deputy coroner assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with a report of a death of an adult female patient at the hospital in Poplar. Weldon Drew is facing four charges including the felony offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, fentanyl. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Wednesday, Nov. 15. If convicted of the felony charge, Drew faces maximum penalties of five years in jail, a $5,000 fine or both. Authorities located a resident of Faith Home after he reportedly left the facility during the middle of the night on Tuesday, Nov. 7/ Wednesday, Nov. 8. Faith Home staff members, the ambulance crew, Wolf Point Police Department and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice all assisted with the search. The 60-year-old man was located a few blocks from the facility at about 7 a.m.

Members of Wolf Point High School’s band got a taste of a larger environment when the students traveled to Missoula near the end of October. Libraries in Roosevelt County will hold four separate community dialogues to discuss ideas and suggestions related to libraries and goals for the future of the libraries in the county. These forums are required before the Roosevelt County trustees can proceed with a strategic plan. This plan is a requirement of the State Library Standards in order to receive coal tax funding.
