The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports that water flows from Fort Peck will be decreasing early this month.
Mike Swenson of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said after the end of the second peak of water at 20,000 cubic feet per second in Wolf Point, flows began stepping down on Wednesday, June 26.

The bigger than ever fireworks’ display in Wolf Point is occurring on Thursday, July 4, thanks to the support of area businesses, organizations and individuals.
“Last year, we set the record and this year, we beat last year’s record,” organizer George “Mr. Fourth of July” Blount said. “The fireworks went up in price because of inflation, but we have great community support.”

The Wolf Point School Board unanimously agreed during a meeting on Monday, June 24, to reward Superintendent Dr. David Perkins with a bonus for his efforts in leading the school district.
Trustee Trenton Wemmer made the motion to give Perkins a $10,000 bonus. The motion was seconded by trustee Sarah Copenhaver and approved by all trustees.
“You’re turning out a great team for us,” board

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at a singlevehicle accident near Brockton. The report was a 2006 Dodge RAM pickup pulling a horse trailer went off the embankment and into the ravine. EMS also responded to the scene. There were no serious injuries.

As part of a joint plea agreement, Judge David J. Cybulski sentenced Waters to five years, all suspended, for the felony charge of strangulation of a partner or family member. The incident occurred on Jan. 13. Walters was also fined $1,000.
