The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 69 calls from Jan. 6-13. A Poplar man who admitted to robbery after carjacking a truck and stabbing the driver on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation was sentenced last week to 57 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said. Very cold temperatures moved in across northeast Montana Jan. 11, with wind chills dropping below zero for most of the region. The coldest readings in the state were in the far northeast corner, said National Weather Service meteorologists in Glasgow.
