A Poplar man who broke into a house on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation and assaulted a resident was sentenced last week to 85 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said. A 22-year-old Circle man died in a fatality crash in Garfield County on Friday, April 18. The crash occurred at 10 p.m. The victim has been identified by family and friends as Nevin Kelly. A 53-year-old Poplar man died in a one-vehicle crash near Terry Monday, April 14. The driver has been identified by family and friends as Geoff Hagadone. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Peterbilt 579 southbound on secondary road 253 when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a delineator post. He was unable to make it back onto the road and overturned.

Law enforcement responded after receiving a report of a dead individual along the railroad tracks in Wolf Point during the late afternoon on Wednesday, April 16. A deceased male was located. The sheriff/coroner reported that the death was not train related. It does not appear to be any foul play involved.
