Roosevelt County residents will have only one contested municipal race in this year’s election. Deputy Jason Baker and former county sheriff’s office employee Wes Headdress have filed for the sheriff’s position. Sheriff Jason Frederick announced prior to the start of filing that he will not seek re-election. The filing deadline was Wednesday, March 4. Gordon Oelkers will be running

The first Fort Peck Montana Tournament of Kings is set For July 31-Aug. 1, with the possibility of an additional day Aug. 2. Registration for the salmon fishing event opens March 15.
