Program Recognizes Efforts Of Volunteers
Area volunteers were recognized during a luncheon in Wolf Point by Volunteers in Action on Friday, Oct. 2.
Lori Harrison, program coordinator in Roosevelt, Daniels and Sheridan counties, explained that luncheons were held in Scobey, Wolf Point and Plentywood to show gratitude to the volunteers.
“This is to celebrate all our volunteers for their hard work all year,” Harrison said.
Volunteers in Action/ Retired and Senior Volunteer Program are funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service operating under AmeriCorps Seniors.
The program, sponsored by the Richland County Health Department, offers individuals and organizations flexible ways to make a lasting impact on their local communities.
Harrison said activities are scheduled throughout the year as fun events for volunteers. A sip-andpaint class in June was well attended as art was painted on glasses.
“We want to do another one, but this time they want to do a Christmas theme,” Harrison said.
