Did You Know?

Parents know it can be hard to separate schoolaged children from their devices, but it might surprise moms and dads to learn just how much time kids are spending with screens.

According to the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, children between the ages of 2 and 4 spend roughly two hours each day using screens. Youngsters between the ages of 5 and 8 spend between three and four hours each day, while children between the ages of 8 and 12 spend roughly five hours per day using screens. By the time they reach their teenage years, youth are spending more than eight hours per day using screens.

Parents concerned by their children's screen usage are urged to contact their kids' pediatricians and even teachers for recommendations on how to cut back.
