On Wednesday, Sept. 23, 20-plus LCHS students voluntarily gathered at their school’s flag pole at 8 a.m. to “pray for federal and state government leaders as well as their school”. They prayed individually for leaders to have wisdom and God’s guidance. Principal Cummins made comments of what it was like for him to attend one as a student after he closed their time in prayer. He said “When I went to ‘See you at the Pole’ event at my school it looked like this.” (He stepped forward to encircle the flagpole with his hands and clasp them.) “I was the only one there and there was no one else. By the time I graduated there were 30-some of us and student led Bible studies in our school. There were also people watching us from across the street to see who came.”
Cummins asked the students “to keep in prayer this entire day, those students in public schools who have taken a stand and came to pray at their school’s flagpole. It’s not as easy to do so as it is in a Christian school, and they will need your prayers to take whatever comes their way.” He also prayed for all the surrounding community schools, for the instructors and the students, the leaders.
Cummins commended the football players for their deportment at Malta Sept. 18. LCHS students are playing football with Wolf Point High School .
