Monday it rained all day, and there was ½” by mid morning. By the end of the week Lustre received a full inch and harvesting could only happen on Thursday or Friday.

The MB Harvest Festival is Oct. 4-6 starting with a 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. Former MB Pastor Rev. J Epp is the speaker. His wife is Lisa and they come from Kansas. A 1:30 p.m. service follows lunch. Monday and Tuesday evening services begin at 7 p.m.

Pastor Frank Lenihan of the MB Church is the chaplain for LCHS. About 30 members of the community joined him at 5 p.m. for an hour of prayer on Sunday evening, Sept 20, for the teaching staff, principal, board, coaches and students of LCHS.

He said, “The most valuable time we can spend at LCHS is in prayer as a community. It is the most important thing we do in the year.” He read the verses from Exodus 17 when Joshua fought the Amalekites at Refadim, when Moses’ hands grew tired and “they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up – one on one side, one on the other – so that his hands remained steady…” As long as Moses’ hands were up, Joshua’s military won. Pastor Frank spoke of the Power of the Lord released in prayer for His people. “We’re here ‘as Aaron and Hur’, on behalf of the teachers, staff, coaches and students.” “People notice the photo albums on the walls and the lives this school has impacted. He spoke of the four soils from Luke and how we are planting seeds the enemy of our souls would like to steal. Be on the alert so we do not fall prey to his divisive tactics.” He was encouraged by “the joy over who God brought to serve here this year” and “the spirit of unity among returning and new staff”.

The volleyball teams won against Frazer on Friday night in Frazer, in three games. The Jr. High volleyball tournament is Oct. 3, in Saco.
