Indians Earn Second In Havre
Led by a strong performance by Jaycee Hilkemann, the Poplar Indians placed second in the boys’ team standings at a large meet in Havre on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The Indians finished with 50 points. Harlem topped the standings with 47 points. Great Falls was third with 55 points.
Hilkemann placed second overall with a time of 14:17.4. Harlem’s Ethan Walker was the meet’s champion at 14:09.3.
Two other Poplar runners finished in the top 10. Issac Irizarry was fourth at 15:40.3. Jayden Eder took sixth at 15:44.8.
Mickey Failing placed 12th with a time of 16:23.2. Ryder Olson was 28th at 17:09.6. Right behind was Dustin Smith in 29th place at 17:15.4.
Quinton Eder took 58th at 19:24.3. Isaiah Irizarry was 83rd at 20:27.0.
In the girls’ division, the Indians also earned second place with 77 points. Chinook was first with 73 points.
Leading the Indians were Mila Gramling in sixth place at 19:27.3 and Kellyn Azure in 10th place at 19:58.2. Chinook’s Ashlyn Ford was the overall winner at 17:23.0.
Poplar’s Amelia Weeks finished in 15th place at 20:17.4. Harley Daniels took 23rd at 21:25.8. Audrey Swallers finished in 38th place at 22:35.5.
Liberty Boadle placed 59th at 23:55.1. Kelbee Redstone was 60th at 23:57.7. Braelyn Marottek took 67th at 25:23.9.
