Froid/Lake Volleyball Plans To Grow Together This Season

With a smaller roster and plenty of young talent, the Froid/Lake volleyball team is heading into the new season focused on growth, teamwork and making the most of every opportunity on the court.

Returning starters Isabelle Nordwick, Kiera Stentoft, Jordan Breuer and Joelle Davidson bring valuable experience to this year’s squad. Nordwick, Breuer and Stentoft make up the team’s senior class and will be looked to for leadership as younger players find their footing.

Atley Jensen, Layton Davidson and Joelle Davidson also return after seeing significant playing time last season, giving the team a core group of experienced players to build around.

With just 12 players on the roster, the team is learning how to adjust to having fewer athletes available.

The smaller numbers also mean younger players will have opportunities to step into larger roles as the season progresses. With a young roster, much of the early season will be spent developing skills, building confidence and learning how to play together.

The goals for the season, however, stretch beyond wins and losses.

“I just really want to see them blossom and grow together, not just as a team but as women,” Coach Kylie Hendrickson said.

That growth will be important as the team works its way through the season and faces tough competition. Richey-Lambert is expected to be among the teams to watch in the league this year.

For this young squad, the season will be a chance to learn from its seniors, gain experience and grow together one game at a time.
