Lustre had a third of an inch rain on Thursday which stopped combining. Bus Inspection for our schools was Tuesday, Aug 11. We are very thankful for a faithful bus mechanic in our community in Ken Zerbe!
Our sports year has begun with the first volleyball practice for Mary Zerbe’s Lustre Lions this morning at LCHS. Their first match is Aug. 29 at the Culbertson Invitational. Five students from Lustre will be playing football with the Wolf Point Wolves.
About 35 students are registered for LCHS which began Monday, Aug. 17. Our teachers have all arrived and were involved in sta training this week. The opening program will be Aug. 23rd in the evening at the LCHS gymnasium when students and teachers are introduced to the community. We always look forward to that day.
Lustre Grade School began Wednesday, Aug. 19, with an added member to the teaching sta. Tiffany Garner will be teaching the kindergarteners on Mondays, introducing each week’s curriculum. Mrs. Nell is over the K-grade 2 classes, Edmond Malihan returns to teach grade 3-4, Ligia Earley will teach grades 5-6 and Luanne Mullet will teach grades 7-8. Music will be taught by Mr Jerson Ayuno.
The LGS will hold an open house on Aug. 26, at 4 pm, and lead teacher, Jeanne Kitsho will be giving parents a lot of information.
