Hearings Conducted In District Court

Three hearings were conducted on the docket in Roosevelt County District in front of District Judge Benjamin Fosland on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Michael Dean Grey Bear changed his plea to guilty for the charges of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Grey Bear admitted that on March 10, he was a driver of a Chevy SUV near Culbertson. During a search, a drug and a green-cutoff straw with a white substance were found in the vehicle.

Fosland ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

An omnibus hearing was scheduled for Chrystal Rose Red Wolf. She is facing a charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and six counts of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

The hearing wasn’t held because Red Wolf didn’t appear. An outstanding arrest warrant has been issued for her. A status hearing was scheduled for Oct. 14.

An omnibus hearing was also scheduled for Lori Jo Lynn Grey Bear.

Roosevelt County Attorney Thomas Bleicher said that there’s an active warrant from the State for Grey Bear with the charge of violating bail conditions. A tribal extradition warrant is required so the State can take her into custody.

The omnibus hearing was rescheduled for Aug. 25.
