Scobey Preparing For School Year
Summer vacation is coming to a close, and Scobey’s school offi cials are preparing for another school year. Teachers have their first day on Monday, Aug. 17, while classes for students start on Wednesday, Aug. 19 Scobey Superintendent of Schools Greg Hardy is excited to begin his ninth year in the leadership position.
“I love how professional, dedicated and highly qualified that our sta is,” Hardy said of why he enjoys being superintendent of the school district.
He also points out how area residents support students by making donations to a wide variety of projects both for the school, churches and clubs.
“It’s a community that will do anything in its power to make sure kids are successful,” Hardy said. “It’s a great place to raise a family.”
Building improvements were small during this summer.
“We just finished some sidewalks. We did our roof last year,” Hardy said.
New teachers in Scobey this year include four instructors from The Philippines. They will teach elementary special education, family and consumer sciences, music and art.
Pat Hardy has been hired as a physical education instructor and head girls’ basketball coach.
Bridget Drummond was hired as a second grade teacher.
