Scobey Repeats As State Swimming Champions

The Scobey Stingrays edged the Sidney Tiger Sharks to win their second straight AA swimming state championship. The Stingrays accounted for 791 points to earn the title in Plentywood during the weekend.

Sidney was second with 758 points and Glendive took third with 601 points.

“They swam extremely well,” Coach Luke Cromwell said about Scobey repeating as state champions.

Logan Fischer earned high point honors in the 8 and under boys’ division. Fischer finished first in the 100-meter IM at 1:55.70, 25-meter butterfly at 21.64 and 25-meter backstroke at 23.09.

Weston Hardy accounted for a strong meet in the boys’ 9-10 division as he placed first in the 50 back at 44.31, second in the 50 free at 35.93 and second in the 50 breast at 51.18.

Nolan Kimball finished second in the 100 free at 1:25.45, second in the 100 IM at 1:49.19 and second in the 50 butterfly at 45.8 in the boys’ 9-10 division.

Cantyn Crandell earned third in the 25 back at 24.87, third in the 50 free at 45.33 and fifth in the 25 free at 20.13 for the boys’ 8 and under division.

Hudson Hardy placed third in the 100 IM at 2:15.13, third in the 25 breast at 28.36 and fifth in the 25 fly at 27.30 in the boys’ 8 and under division.

Rowan Southland finished second in the 25 fly at 25.09, fifth in the 25 backstroke at 26.82 and fifth in the 100 IM at 2:21.49 in the boys’ 8 and under division.

Bridger Anderberg scored with a third in the 50 butterfly at 45.93, third in the 50 back at 47.67 and fifth in the 50 freestyle at 39.34 in the 9-10 age division.

Reid Cromwell placed fourth in the 100 breast at 1:25.05, sixth in the 200 IM at 3:07.02 and third in the 100 fly at 1:23.61 in the boys’ 15-19 age division.

Easton Fladager came through with a third in the 100 butterfly at 1:35.94, a fifth in the 200 IM at 3:14.79 and a seventh in the 200 free at 2:50.40 in the boys’ 13-14 age division.

Emmett Kimball earned fourth in the 100 IM at 2:17.35, fifth in the 25 breast at 31.25 and seventh in the 25 free at 21.0 in the boys’ 8 and under group.

Jett Holum placed fourth in the 100 back at 1:24.36, sixth in the 100 free at 1:12.91 and sixth in the 50 free in 30.33 for the boys’ 13-14 division. Harvey Urdahl placed seventh in the 25 breast at 32.63, seventh in the 25 back at 25.62 and fourth in the 25 butterfly at 26.88 in the boys’ 8 and under division.

Jordie Olson placed fourth in the 100 IM at 1:56.37, fourth in the 25 free at 19.81 and first in the 25 breast at 25.35 in the girls’ 8 and under division.

Nate Lekvold took sixth in the 200 IM at 3:14.96, sixth in the 100 breast at 1:34.95 and eighth in the 50 butterfly at 38.47 for the boys’ 13-14 group.

Aydan Stentoft finished seventh in the 50 free at 32.42, eighth in the 100 free at 1:15.22 and fifth in the 100 back at 1:24.37 in the boys’ 15-19 age division. Oliver Brinton earned fourth in the 50 back at 49.40, eighth in the 50 free at 40.20 and ninth in the 100 free at 1:34.52 in the boys’ 9-10 age division.

Simon McGowan placed seventh in the 100 free at 1:15.10, sixth in the 50 butterfl y at 40.42 and eighth in the 200 free at 2:50.73 in the boys’ 13-14 group.

Joshua Manternach earned sixth in the 100 IM at 2:03.84 and sixth in the 50 breast at 1:00.77 in the boys’ 9-10 age group.

Lucas Lekvold scored with a seventh in the 200 IM at 3:23.52, a 10th in the 100 breast at 1:38.98 and an eighth in the 100 back at 1:38.77 in the boys’ 15-19 age division.

Maddex Holum took ninth in the 100 breast at 1:40.24, 12th in the 100 free at 1:26.11 and 12th in the 50 free at 37.64 in 13-14 age division. Emma Dumitru was fifth in the 25 breast for 8 and under girls with a time of 28.30.

Jax Thievin placed 12th in the 50 free at 46.63, 12th in the 100 free at 1:45.81 and 11th in the 50 butterfly at 1:17.79.

Evelyn Berryhill earned sixth in the 50 freestyle for the girls’ 13-14 division with a time of 32.88. She was sixth in the 100 breast at 1:37.77 and fourth in the 100 backstroke at 1:27.91.

Ruby Holum placed fifth in the 100 IM at 1:56.82.

Elliet Frederick was the winner in the 25 freestyle at 18.65 for girls’ 8 and under. Sophie McGowan was second at 18.89 and Jordie Olson took fourth at 19.81. In the 50 freestyle, Frederick placed second at 40.28, McGowan finished third at 40.77 and Ruby Holum was third at 43.64.

In the 25 butterfly, Mc-Gowan was the winner at 19.08, Frederick placed third at 21.02 and Holum was third at 24.38.

Harper Hansen earned first in the 50 breast at 51.43, second in the 100 IM at 1:37.59 and eighth in the 25 freestyle at 20.37.

Harper Lekvold was fourth in the girls’ 11-12 division with a time of 35.41 in the 50 freestyle. Sawyer Thievin was eighth at 36.07. Thievin placed fifth in the 100 freestyle at 1:19.04.

Siri Moran was second in the 50 butterfly at 36.38, fourth in the 100 butterfly and ninth in the 200 IM at 3:25.86. Ariana Maldonado placed seventh in the 50 backstroke at 43.52 and fourth in the 50 butterfly at 40.09 and seventh in the 200 freestyle at 2:54.78.

Ava Stentoft placed 10th in the 200 IM with a time of 3:34.84, ninth in the 100 breast at 1:45.69 and ninth in the 50 freestyle at 35.77.

Alea Stentoft took sixth in the 25 backstroke with a time of 25.96 seconds. Haddie Hansen placed seventh in the 25 backstroke and seventh in the 25 butterfly.

Jaxcee Bilbrey placed eighth in the 50 backstroke for the girls’ 9-10 division with a time of 49.34.

Arayah Stentoft was 10th in the 100 backstroke at 1:46.49, seventh in the 100 butterfly at 48.59 and 10th in the 50 butterfly at 45.56. Scobey’s 8 and under boys’ 100-meter free relay team of Cantyn Crandell, Emmett Kimball, Hudson Hardy and Logan Fischer finished first with a time of 1:25.12.

In the 100-meter medley relay, the team featuring Cantyn Crandell, Hudson Hardy, Logan Fischer and Emmett Kimball won with a time of 1:40.32.

The 100-meter free relay team in the boys’ 9-10 age division of Bridger Anderberg, Joshua Manternach, Jax Thievin and Ollie Brinton finished second at 1:17.41.

In the boys’ 15-19 age division, the 200-meter medley relay team featuring Simon McGowan, Lucas Lekvold, Easton Fladager and Maddex Holum placed fourth at 2:41.13. The 200-freestyle relay team of Easton Fladager, Maddex Holum, Lucas Lekvold and Nate Lekvold finished fourth at 2:17.79 in the boys’ 15-19 age division.

The 100 freestyle relay team of Ruby Holum, Jordie Olson, Haddie Hansen and Sophie McGowan took first with a time of 1:18.23 for girls’ 8 and under. The 100 free mixed relay team of Rowan Southland, Evelyn Handran, Harvey Urdahl and Elliet Frederick also earned first.

The 100 free mixed relay team of Nolan Kimball, Jaxcee Bilbrey, Harper Hansen and Weston Hardy won with a time of 1:09.46 in the 9-10 age group.

The 100 medley relay team in the girls’ 9-10 age division of Evelyn Handran, Baylor Berryhill, Maggie Bekker and Bristol Anderberg took eighth. The 200 medley team for the girls’ 11-12 division consisting of Zella Maldonado, Harper Lekvold, Ariana Maldonado and Sawyer Thievin placed second.

The 200 medley relay mixed team of Evelyn Berryhill, Nate Lekvold, Siri Moran and Jett Holum placed third. The 200 medley relay mixed team of Aydan Stentoft, Ava Stentoft, Reid Cromwell and Arayah Stentoft placed fifth.
