Gregory YellowHawk

Gregory Lorne Yellow-Hawk, 67, of Poplar died June 16, 2026.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1958, to Alta Ruth Thundering Bear and Elmer YellowHawk Sr. As a young boy, he lived with his grandfather Jack YellowHawk and then later lived with his grandmother Adele Ironleggins. Growing up, he went to boarding school and traveled throughout many states.

He had one son, Robert Lee YellowHawk, and raised and adopted many children throughout his life, loving them all like his own.

He enjoyed doing puzzles and going to powwows. He always wanted to go on a long country ride and jam out to his old school music, including Meatloaf and The Eagles.

He was married to Georgia “Cissy” for 40 years. He lived a great life leaving an impact on everyone he met.

He is survived by his children, Robert, LaToya, Butterfl y, Christopher, Adele, Gabriel and his Babygirl Tanisha and T-Bear. He had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, raising Michael, Kiaree and Laura, and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jolly; sister, Adele; and grandchild, Ranae Jade.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 22, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at Poplar City Cemetery.
