More than 30 youngsters overcame cool, rainy weather to attend a skateboarding day activity in Wolf Point on Sunday, June 21. The event was sponsored locally by the Wolf Point Community Organization.

Event organizer Isaiah Dionne said 20 youth received free skateboards and 23 received free helmets. Those items were purchased through donations from WPCO, the Board of Missoula and the Montana Skatepark Association.

“I’m happy with how it turned out, but the weather could be better,” said Dionne, who unofficially takes care of the Wolf Point skatepark.

The event was held on international Go Skateboarding Day.

“It’s the first time for the Wolf Point skatepark,” Dionne said of celebrating Go Skateboarding Day.
