City Council Holds May Meeting
The Wolf Point City Council held its regular meeting Monday, May 18. The full council was in attendance.
During public comment, Lois Red Elk-Reed spoke about panhandlers in Wolf Point: “We need to get rid of these street people,” she said. She described meetings that she has been having with business owners in the city. Sandi Azure inquired about vacant and derelict properties. Noreen Hohman asked about the state of dog ordinance language currently on the books and Mayor Chris Dschaak said that the ordinance was currently being considered for revisions.
Greg Lukasik with Great West Engineering provided an update about ongoing construction: “There have been some delays, but overall I am pleased with the contractor.” He said paving should be completed by July 4.
Activity reports were received by public works, City Attorney Montana Wilson and the Wolf Point Police Department. Police Department Chief Anthony Cambridge was present to talk about a possible reallocation of unspent department funds, with monies going toward vehicle purchases and repairs.
The next regular council meeting is set for June 15.
