The Wolf Point Senior Center is marking Older Americans Month this May with a series of educational programs, health screenings, and fitness opportunities designed to engage and enrich the lives of community members. While the events are geared toward adults 60 and older, everyone is welcome to attend. Special Events This Month

Blood Pressure Checks — Thursday, May 14, Noon–2 p.m.

Staff from the Roosevelt County Health Department will be on hand to provide free blood pressure checks from noon to 2:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. The screening offers a convenient opportunity for residents to monitor their cardiovascular health close to home.

Buffalo Restoration Presentation — Friday, May 15, at 11 a.m.

Roxann Smith of Fort Peck Community College will present on buffalo restoration projects in the region. The talk promises a fascinating look at ongoing conservation efforts and the cultural and ecological significance of the American bison to northeastern Montana.

Lunch & Learn: Scams & Fraud — Tuesday, May 19, at noon.

Greg Hunter of Nemont will lead a Lunch & Learn session focused on scams and fraud. As telephone and internet scams targeting older adults continue to rise, this presentation aims to equip attendees with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Chair Yoga — Wednesday, May 20, at 10 a.m.

Keri Sansaver will lead a chair yoga class, offering a gentle, accessible form of exercise suitable for all fitness levels. Chair yoga can help improve flexibility, balance, and overall well-being without placing undue stress on joints.

All Month Long

Throughout May, the Senior

Center will offer video-led exercise classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m.

In addition, financial wellness handouts provided by the Wolf Point Federal Credit Union will be available, along with a swag table generously donated by Action for Eastern Montana.
