Wolf Point Musicians Entertain With Spring Concert

Wolf Point’s spring fusion concert started off with a lively note on when members of the high school's swing choir sang and danced to Puttin’ on the Ritz on Monday, April 27.

The school-year ending concert then featured the combo choir performing four numbers including Red River Valley, The Lighthouse, Does The World Say and Fly Away Home.

After the boys’ choir sang

Red, Red Rose, sophomore Sheena Standing Rock performed her state qualifying song. That performance was followed by a clarinet quarter playing Dreams.

Audience members then enjoyed solo performances of state qualifying work by Maya Deserly, Cole Boysun and Emmanuel “EJ” Julio.

During the night, music director Michael Keefner presented the national choral award to Standing Rock and the John Philip Sousa band award to Deserly.

The girls’ group entertained by singing Stranger to the Rain.

Sixth-grade band members displayed their enthusiasm by playing selections from Essential Elements under the direction of Bridget Drummond.

Senior spotlights featured Boysun and Jayla Big Talk performing state-qualifying solos.

The Wolf Point High School band had four selections.

The swing choir ended the program with The Old Mill and We'll Meet Again.
