Culbertson School Board Hires Staff
The Culbertson School Board met in regular session on Monday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. Trustees present were chair Chris Petersen, Wendy Becker, Amber Fox and Verlin Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen, Janessa Parenteau and Lora Finnicum. Visitors were recognized.
A motion was approved to pay the April bills, investments, note cash and extra-curricular balances.
Reports were presented. Two students in Family, Consumer, Science were selected by the Montana Chamber of Commerce for pitched business projects. America Explore reported awesome trip through several eastern states. Junior high Academic Olympic team received three top 10 finishers and several close. District music festival was held and 31 students qualified for the state music festival in 19 events.
A motion was approved to hire classified staff Emily Gabriel as secretary; Andy Ellerkamp as head maintenance; Chelsie Flinn (half time), Stefanie Newbill, Brianna Evenson, Terri Sansaver, Jenna Bowker as paraprofessionals; Alicia Wilbanks as JOM/home school coordinator and Title I; Jennifer Struna and Lynda Cosmano as custodians; Kenneth Harrison as head cook; Kenzie Harrison as kitchen assistant; Taleasha DePriest as business office aide; Kaylynn Raaum as assistant clerk/activities secretary/ custodial supervisor.
Recommended coaches were approved: Cassidy Obergfell as head junior high football, Kevin Becker as assistant junior high football and Hugh Donaldson as assistant junior high gootball.
A motion to offer Luanne Waldow the K-12 art teacher position for 2026-2027 was approved.
The 2026-2027 Professional Development Plan was approved.
Chris Chilson was approved for hire as student summer custodian. Notice for public comment for non-agenda items was given.
Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m.
