Roosevelt County Sheri_’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheri_’s O e responded to 119 cases from April 13-20.
The calls included: April 13
Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department at the Waterhole Bar where employees reported a juvenile male showed a firearm and then took o_ walking north. A Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice’s narcotics o er assisted. Law enforcement saw the man digging into his backpack near Albertsons and then running o_. He was arrested and taken to the juvenile detention center in Poplar.
April 14
Deputies responded to Culbertson after receiving two calls regarding an incident involving an adult male and female. The male claimed he was physically assaulted. Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol took a complaint from both parties. Michael Johnson, 46, was charged with partner or family member assault, second o_ense, and strangulation.
April 15
Deputies responded to Poplar’s city limits on a report that a male was holding a chainsaw and appeared to being aggressive toward another individual. The male said he was just performing yard work and he was showing the chainsaw to someone but it wasn’t on. No arrests were made.
April 16 At about 10 p.m., deputies were asked by McCone County to provide mutual aid. Two males on a flatbed truck located another male walking who was su_ering with exposure. Earlier in the day, law enforcement received a report of stolen copper wire on the same county road. The male was taken by ambulance to the hospital. McCone County was going to follow-up on the call.
April 18
Deputies responded to Albertsons parking lot to assist FPTDLJ. An adult male and female were arguing near the train tracks. A sobriety test was performed on the male. He was placed under arrest and taken to tribal jail.
April 19
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a call regarding a stolen pickup from a residence on Highway 25. The vehicle was located in Poplar and returned to its owner.
