The Froid/Lake Red Hawks have 16 athletes out for track this season under head coach Amanda Murray.

Girls on the squad include Becca Nelson, Atley Jensen, Keilee Williams, Leah Murray, Jordan Breuer, Keira Stentoft and Camri Salvevold.

The boys’ team features Bryce Murray, Lane Bakken, Kaj Jensen, Eli James, Cody Olson, Eddie Orozco, Aaron Orozco, Bentley Williams and Owen Logan.

Kaj Jensen has won state titles in the unified division in each of the last two years.

A strong spot for Froid/ Lake’s girls should be the 1600-meter relay with Breuer, Stentoft, Murray and Jensen.

On the boys’ side, Bakken should fare well in the 1600-meter run.

Eighth-graders on the team are Atley Jensen in the 800 and 1600 and Bryce Murray in sprints and relays.

“I think we have a lot of talent this year,” Coach Murray said. “We want to get as many as we can past districts and to divisionals. I think we have a good chance.”

The Red Hawks opened their season on March 28 with an indoor meet in Williston, N.D. Bakken earned first in the 1600 at the meet. Bryce Murray took third in the 200 and sixth in the 400.
