Marilyn Hunsucker

Marilyn Dianne Hunsucker, 72, of Cordova, N.C., formerly of Wolf Point died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven.

She was born Aug. 24, 1953, to Merlin and Lilian Sorenson in Williston, N.D. In 1969, her father transferred was transferred to Wolf Point with Montana-Dakota Utilities. She graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1971.

She worked at Faith Home in Wolf Point until going to Great Falls.

In 1972, she went to Great Falls to further her education to become a nurse. This is where she met and married Richard “Rick” Hunsucker who was stationed at the air base there.

They settled in Cordova and the couple built their life together. They had three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She enjoyed life to the fullest.

She was a nurse for 28 years as well as a phenomenal quilter. She spent a lot of time at the river camping and boating with her family. She also enjoyed time at the beach, riding horses and loved spending time outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rick Hunsucker.

She is survived by her children, Ricky Hunsucker of Laurel Hill, Chris Hunsucker of Hamlet and Alicia Mae Lunceford of Cordova; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Linda Pfeiffer of Wolf Point, Beverly Haggerty of Edgar, Bonnie Loran of Lockwood, Carmen Cleveland of Indianapolis, Ind., Ronald Sorenson of Sidney and Donald Sorenson of Williston, N.D.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 4, at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet with Vernon Dye officiating.
