Expect High Winds, Snow During Weekend

The National Weather Service in Glasgow is reporting a possibility of high winds and significant snow in the region during the weekend.

The report reads that an active weather pattern looks to be setting up late this week with a chinook generating strong to high winds Friday, March 13, as well as rain transitioning to snow that evening. Both Friday and Saturday look to generate significant snowfall in a series of disturbances while fronts move back and forth across northern Montana.

There is a 30-40 percent probability of wind gusts of up to 55 miles per hour in the Wolf Point area and 30 percent in the Culbertson area on Thursday.

Probability of 4 inches of snow in Wolf Point during the weekend is 59 percent in Wolf Point, 70 percent in Glasgow, 76 percent in Malta and 57 percent in Culbertson.

Probability of 8 inches of snow for the weekend is 20 percent in Wolf Point, 22 percent in Culbertson, 33 percent in Glasgow and 45 percent in Malta.

Malta has a 14 percent chance of 12 inches of snow. Glasgow, Wolf Point and Culbertson are all less than 4 percent.
