Optimist Club Announces Local Scholarships

This year, the Optimist Club of Wolf Point is prepared to present more funds than ever before through its scholarship program.

Local officials said that the amount received will be $500, an increase from $300. One senior boy and one senior girl from Wolf Point High School will be presented the awards.

Entry deadline is May 18. The scholarships will be presented at the graduation ceremony on May 24.

Interested applicants should contact the high school’s guidance counselor’s office to receive an application and obtain more information.

Judges will consider the students’ community service/ volunteerism, involvement in the school and grades.

The Optimist Club of Wolf Point has been awarding scholarships since 2010.

The Optimist Club’s goal is to help children of all ages. One of the projects is to award scholarships to students who have shown actions that help others by volunteering in various school, church and community events.
