Senior Profile Eagle Boy Appreciates Culbertson
Micah Eagle Boy appreciates many people in Culbertson and he displayed how much he cares during a star quilt ceremony before the last home basketball game on Friday, Feb. 13.
Individuals that Eagle Boy honored included Shelly Panasuk, Brian and Shelby Manning and Christina and Mike Olson.
“That was nice,” Eagle Boy said of the ceremony. “Being able to give back to the people who have helped me my whole life.”
Eagle Boy’s best sport in high school was football where he earned All-Conference honors at linebacker and was selected for the Class C All-Star game.
Personal highlights included having nearing 25 tackles during a game against Scobey.
A great memory was beating Ennis in the first round of the playoffs at home during his junior season.
“The fans were super loud and had me hyped,” Eagle Boy said.
He was a member of Culbertson’s boys’ basketball team for four years, but he needed to serve as manager for two of the seasons due to injuries.
Prior to high school, Eagle Boy was a standout in AAU wrestling. He earned second team All-American honors and attended the national duals held in Arkansas and Nebraska.
In school, Eagle Boy likes the life skills class. He says there are always good stories that he hears in that class.
“It’s never a dull day,” he added. His favorite teacher is Christina Olson. “She’s been a bright person in my life since kindergarten,” Eagle Boy explained.
He appreciates the community of Culbertson.
“It’s a nice, cool place to be,” he said. “There’s not too much drama.”
After high school, Eagle Boy plans to join the military.
