Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team experienced a slow start and fell at home to Harlem, 64-47, on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Harlem gained an early 10-4 lead, but the Wolves fought back on a basket by Adalynn Smith off a pass from Maci Fourstar and a three-pointer by Jorilynn Black Eagle.

The Wildcats went on to lead by a 19-13 margin at the end of the quarter.

With the score at 22-15 in the second period, Harlem accounted for nine straight points including four by Aubri Flying for a 31-15 advantage.

Wolf Point struck for six of the last eight points of the half on two free tosses by Marley Moran, a free throw by Fourstar and another three-pointer by Black Eagle to cut the margin to 33-21 at the half.

The Wolves trailed 46-37 at the end of the third quarter. Mattie Azure fired in a three-pointer for the Wolves early in the fourth period.

Harlem tallied 12 of the game’s next 14 points.

Wolf Point’s top scorers were Black Eagle with 18 and Azure with 10 points.

Also scoring were Amith with five, Fourstar with five, Moran with four, Cadence Bouldin wiht four and Sophia Ricker with one.

Leading Harlem were J’Lynn Morgan with 15, Maddy Mount with 13, Flying with 11 and Kashlyn Speak Thunder with 10 points.

Harlem made 19 of its 36 free-throw attempts in the game.
