Book Club Planned For Saturday

The Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center is hosting a book club event Saturday, Feb. 7, starting at noon MST. The first book will be The Fall of the House Usher by Edgar Allen Poe.

Reading on the Frontier is a book club exploring the titles commonly found in the late 19th century military post libraries. Each session situates the reading within their historical context, examining why they may have circulated at Fort Buford and what they reveal about the social and cultural life on a military post in the 19th century.

“We encourage history buffs, book worms and anyone curious about life in the 19th century to join,” said a press release from the hosts. “Recommended for older teens and adults. no prior knowledge of history is required.”
