Senate Candidate Visits With TEB Members
U.S. Senate candidate Michael Black Wolf visited with the Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board during its regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 26.
Black Wolf, a Democrat, says he is seeking the federal position because he cares about his grand-daughters’ future. He said goals of MAGA and Project 2025 aren’t beneficial to many individuals.
“There’s no room in that world for women, there’s no room in that world for minorities, and there’s no room in that world for native people,” Black Wolf said. “My grand-daughters meet all those criteria.”
Although Montana has recently been a solid red state, Black Wolf is hoping to attract some moderate Republicans who aren’t happy with current policies.
“There is a plan, there is a path,” Black Wolf said of a Democrat replacing current Sen. Steve Daines.
Black Wolf discussed unifying tribal nations in Montana and having an unified caucus going forward.
During the meeting, Black Wolf mentioned his support for veterans’ health care, the second amendment and teacher unions.
The Fort Peck Democratic Tribal Committee has endorsed Black Wolf.
Black Wolf requested $3,500 for the primary election and $3,500 for the general election from TEB. He was told the request needs to go to the finance committee.
