Russell Brent Wilkins, 84, of Wolf Point died Jan. 19, 2025.
He was born on June 30, 1940, in Shelbyville, Ind., to Patricia Hughs and Jesse Wilkins.
He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and was a Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by one sister, Dajette Courchene of Havre; two daughters Alyssa Wilkins of Poplar and Michelle McNabb of Wolf Point; three sons, Hal Hunziker of Chicago, Ill., Ken Damon and Derek McNabb, both of Wolf Point, MT; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason; daughter, Bertha; and his companion

Completion Nears For Head Start Building In Wolf Point
The long journey to create a new Head Start facility in Wolf Point is now almost a reality.

Sheriff Office Honors Employees
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office has selected Joe Moore as the recipient of the 2024 Deputy of the Year award.
The award reads, “In recognition of your dedication and loyal services to the citizens of Roosevelt County.”
Moore resides in Bainville. He is an EMT and also a member of the fire department.
Along with being a deputy, he teaches First Aid classes in the area.

Wolves Setting Good Standards In Speech, Drama
Wolf Point High School students are becoming a force in the speech and drama ranks. The Wolves have come away with six drama sweeps and one speech sweeps titles during this season.
Coach Jacob Boysun credits the success to having more students participate in the program and featuring students with experience in competitions.

Teachers List Need For Additional Staff Members
The Wolf Point Education Association provided a list of additional positions that teachers feel are needed in the school district during a collective bargaining meeting held on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Wolf Point Education Association co-president Erin Loendorf said the list was based on a survey of Wolf Point’s educators.
