Red Hawks Expect To Contend In League
Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball squad will count on its defense to have a strong season again this year.
Returning starters for the Red Hawks are senior Avery Johnson and junior Isabelle Nordwick.
Players who helped off the bench last season included junior Keira Stentoft, sophomore Joelle Davidson, junior Jordyn Breuer and junior Leah Murray.
The Red Hawks have a total of 11 girls out for the sport this season.
Key additions to the squad include transfer student Mira Bakken and eighth-grade Atley Jensen.
“We should be in the middle of the pack,” Coach Josh Stentoft said of the conference race. “We lost a lot of our scoring.”
The coach feels the Red Hawks have the ability to be very solid on the defensive end. He is pleased with the team’s attitude. “It has been great,” Stentoft said.
The coach feels the league’s top teams will include Bainville, Brockton, Richey/Lambert and MonDak.
