Tribal Executive Board Conducts Meeting
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its regular full board meeting Monday, Nov. 10. The following actions and descriptions were included in the resolution log.
The board voted to approve the fiscal year 2025/2026 budget modification in the amount of $250,000 with seven signatures due to the state of emergency Feed the Hungry was recognized and Sharon Red Thunder was replaced with Angeline Red Thunder on Feed the Hungry and Turns Around committee.
Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center’s request for a buffalo for its cultural camp was approved.
The board authorized the Tribal Operations Officer to disburse payment to Sonosky & Chambers for legal services rendered for the month of September totaling $35,373.30.
The TTP/IRR Road Maintenance Program was approved to spend $25,000 for snow plow repairs.
The board voted to support the development of the Comprehensive Safety Plan for the Fort Peck Indian Reservation Road/Tribal Transportation Program to identify specific safety strategies for at risk transportation system locations within the exterior boundaries for the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
Dana Buckles was replaced on the Fort Peck Water Users Association Council Representative by Jestin Dupree.
The board approved the Natural Resources Program’s Recommendations to authorize to apply for the FY2026 Count/Reservation Noxious Trust Fund Grant in the amount of $7,500.00. These funds will be utilized for the administrative duties of reservation/ county cooperative noxious weed projects.
The collaboration with the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy was approved to proceed with planning and installation of solar panels for the meat processing facility.
The board approved the request to rescind Resolution #32-83-2023-12 and appointment of the membership representatives of the Adult Protection Team and the recommendation of two adult representative, including Program Director, Community Services Program, and Trauma /Informed Advocate for Red Bird Woman Center.
Delta Dental’s contract was renewed for an additional two years beginning Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2027, with an increase of 2.50 percent in premiums which amounts to an extra $4,323.84.
Love Has No Color was approved to utilize the Sprole Housing while they are on site during Dec. 10–11.
Adrian Spotted Bird was approved for the third spot on the Fort Peck Community College board of directors.
The board voted to rescind Resolution #32-1769-2025-07, stopping any future P.L. 93638 contracting of the Indian Health Service Programs.
The Tribal Operations Officer was approved to disburse payment to the Law Office of Cher Old Elk for General Counsel in the amount of $24,522.05 for legal services rendered for the month of October. The board also voted to decline Cher Old Elk’s contract with the Fort Peck Tribes.
A letter of support was approved for the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders pertaining to Injury Prevention.
The board voted to appoint and keep Sunee Erickson as secretary accountant.
A substitute motion was approved to request Jennifer Lamere, tribal liaison, to meet with Health and Human Services committee Thursday, Nov. 13, to provide updates on the P.L. 93-638 contact process and operations for pharmacy, optometry, Dental, Audiology, PHNs.
TEB is the duly elected body representing the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Reservation and is empowered to act on behalf of the Tribes. All actions shall be adherent to provisions set forth in the 1960 Constitution and By-Laws.
The next regular full board meting is set for Nov. 24.
