Suspect Charged With Murder In Death Of Moran

Law enforcement arrested an individual believed to be connection with the death of Wolf Point’s Stanley Moran Jr. on Sept. 28, 2024.

Anthony Flynn was arrested in Columbia County, Ore., at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10. He is facing charges of murder and arson.

Moran, 47 at the time of his death, was found by the Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department during an early morning fire occurred at an unoccupied building on the corner of Anaconda Street and First Avenue South. The building was the former home of the Pizza Joint and, before that, Rick’s Barber Shop.

After Moran’s death and other violent acts in the community, a March Against Violence was conducted in Wolf Point the following March. As the group headed down Main Street shortly, they chanted loudly “March Against Violence” and “Say Their Names.”

Last July, a good turnout of participants ran and walked in the Justice for Stan: Stanley Moran Jr. Memorial 5K and one-mile walk/run that was held in Wolf Point. Runners wore T-shirts with Moran’s photo and the words, “Justice For Stan.”
