Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 148 calls during Oct. 13-20.

The calls included the following: Oct. 13

Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at Poplar tribal housing for a report of disorderly conduct involving two males. The argument wasn’t physical, and the individuals were told to separate.

Deputy/coroner assisted FPTDLJ with a report of a male who died of natural causes inside his residence.

Oct. 14

Deputies responded to Town Pump in Wolf Point for a fight involving two males. One of the men said the fight started when the another man began choking his dog. They were told to go their separate ways.

Oct. 16

Deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle inside Wolf Point’s city limits. The vehicle was later found at a different location. The owner was told of the vehicle’s location.

Deputies responded to Fort Kipp for a report of domestic violence. Someone was reportedly bleeding from the mouth. Deputies investigated the situation, and the Culbertson ambulance arrived on the scene. Deyna Lizotte, 19, was charged with negligent endangerment, partner/family member assault and consumption of alcohol while under the age of 21.

Oct. 17

Deputies responded to an apartment building in Poplar for a report of stolen property. Taken was a washing machine, valued at $500. The investigation continues.

Oct. 18

Deputies responded to Froid for a report of a fire in the city limits. A homeowner used a garden hose to extinguish the fire, but the Froid Fire Department was notified.

Oct. 19

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Poplar for a report of two individuals arguing. The parties were separated.

Oct. 20

At around 6 a.m., deputies assisted FPTDLJ and the Poplar Fire Department for a hay bale fire on BIA Road 131. The fire was put under control, but monitored throughout day because of the strong winds.
