Harvest Festival time is drawing near. The Mennonite Brethren Church holds its harvest festival Oct. 5-7. The speaker is Dr. David Janzen and his wife, Karen, of Hillsboro, Kan. Dr. Janzen is the president of Tabor College.
Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m., and Monday and Tuesday evenings begin at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, the pastor will have a live interview with Josh Brown from his place of service in Haiti.
The Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church will have Harvest Festival on Oct. 12-14. Speaker is Mr. Gary Krehbeil, of Omaha, Neb., who serves the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches. The Sunday morning service will be followed by a lunch and a 1:30 p.m. service, and evening services on Monday and Tuesday.
The volleyball teams were at Wolf Point on Tuesday, Sept 23. The junior high did well with 25-19, 25-16 wins in the first two, lost to Wolf Point 15-10, and won the match in the last game with a score of 15-10.
On Friday, the junior high won 25-19, then lost 18-25 and won the last one 15-9 against Circle Junior High. The LCHS varsity lost its match with Circle, 25-19, 25-14 and 25-10. They were hard-fought games and gave opportunity for learning.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Ross Trimble celebrated his 86th birthday with family.
