Bainville Council Members Discuss Halloween Plans
The regular meeting of the Bainville Town Council was called to order at 7 p.m. at the Bainville Town Hall. Mayor Toby Romo was present, as were Carol Rasmussen, Will Rathbun and John Gilligan by telephone.
During public comment, Thiel introduced herself. Thiel represents House District 30, which includes Bainville.
Diane Panasuk mentioned that she is taking care of cleaning up her trailer park. She asked why the old bank that she owns is considered a “dilapidated building,” as listed on the nuisance letter that was sent to her. Mayor Romo stated that the north wall of the building is collapsing and the structure of the bricks has lost its integrity and is beyond repair.
Panasuk mentioned she is contacting the Montana Historical Society to see what can be done to save the building.
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department update included 13 calls for service, one arrest and three citations.
A building permit for a shop building was approved for Ernie Bingham, Shop building.
A bid of $6,980 from Torres Flooring was approved for new flooring at the town office.
The town is currently planning an evening of fun for the community on Halloween, 2025. There was discussion of possible events to take place. Also discussed, placing “Caution Drive Slow” signs around the town for the trick or treaters.
Water loss was reported at 19 percent for August.
Claims and journal vouchers were approved in the amount of $43,232.42, as was payroll in the amount of $8,599.67.
The next regular meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
