Breaks Views At Cedar Ridge Executive Suites
Local residents will have long since noticed Steve and Shelley Baldwin building handsome structures on the west side of Highway 16, just north of the Culbertson Bridge at the Missouri River. It’s a spot where travelers look hard at everything as they’re racing past. With a third building site going up quickly on the southern end of the property, we decided to have a closer look at the completed Cedar Ridge Executive Suites, which offers plush lodgings to travelers and business professionals working in the area.
The beautiful section of multicolored river breaks is remarkable from both sides of the river, but the views from the Suites’ parking lot, perched a few hundred feet above the water, are photo worthy year-round.
The Baldwins told the Community News that the 6,800 square foot Suites building has been finished since 2013 and is open for business. They offer a variety of spacious, modern, high-ceilinged rooms, with amenities like California king beds, A/C, WiFi and of course, the picture windows.
Despite the profusion of hunters this time of year, Shelley Baldwin said they like to focus on businesspeople and guests traveling to the area for reunions, weddings and other special events. She added that a “no pets” policy sends most of the hunters elsewhere. “It’s kind of been word of mouth,” Baldwin told CN. She said that a lot of the traffic at the Suites has been from returning and long term guests. “It makes a difference when you know the guests by name,” Baldwin said.
One reason locals may not know more about the Suites already is its location. The highway traffic is moving fast at the river’s edge. Even people familiar with the area are likely to keep their eyes on the road as they prepare to cross the bridge. The approach and turnoff are safe and legal from both sides of river, but you’ll want to be on the ball. Heading north across the bridge into Culbertson, the Suites are the first turn on the left.
