Wolf Point High School senior Lauren Rodenberg is a good example of how a student can successfully mix both busy athletics and academics involvement.

Rodenberg’s activities include volleyball, tennis, National Honor Society and pep club. She is also toying with the idea of serving as the flag football program’s manager.

She carries a 4.0 grade point average and is in line to being valedictorian if she continues on course.

When asked which has been her toughest class so far, she answered, “I think the ones I have to think the most for are stats or college comp.”

Rodenberg enjoys being a member of Wolf Point’s volleyball team because of her relationship with teammates.

“I like laughing with all my teammates,” she explained. “I just think they are really goofy. They make it fun and less stressful.”

She is hopeful that the Wolves qualify for the divisional tournament as a team.

In tennis, she has qualified for the state meet in each of the last two seasons. Her doubles’ teammate is Riley Schwarzrock.

“It’s just me and my partner,” Rodenberg said of what she likes about tennis. “It’s on us. We don’t have to worry about anybody else or performing.”

One of her goals is being selected Most Valuable Teammate in both sports again after earning the honors last school year.

Another positive of her sports involvement is being on the same teams as freshman sister McKenzie Rodenberg.

“It’s a way to spend more time with her,” Lauren said. “I feel we don’t argue as much. We’re more like friends.”

She has attended school in Wolf Point since pre-school classes.

“I like how small it is, how I’ve grew up with my classmates,” Lauren said of being in Wolf Point. “It’s more personable with your teachers. You know pretty much everybody’s name here.”

Down the line, Rodenberg wants to explore other towns but doesn’t rule out returning to Wolf Point.

After high school, Rodenberg is still undecided on her plans. She is considering a business degree or attending cosmetology school.
