First School Week Goes Well In Wolf Point

Wolf Point Superintendent of Schools David Perkins reports that the first few days of school went very well last week.
“Pretty smooth actually,” Perkins said.
He added that the high school always deals with a few scheduling changes at the start of a semester.
This school year marks the first that Southside Elementary features only pre-k through second graders and Northside Elementary has third through fifth graders.
Perkins said those schools now appear to be quieter, which he feels is beneficial.
“There’s a difference in grade levels and attitudes that you have,” Perkins said. “It feels like a younger campus at Northside. It seems more calm, which is good.”
The school district is waiting for one junior high teacher to arrive in a couple of weeks. School officials are seeking additional paraprofessional and cafeteria employees.
As far as moving into the new administration building, Perkins is hopeful the move will be completed by the end of the this week or early next week. “When that happens, it will happen really quickly,” Perkins said of the move for offices.
As far as the track project, framing was supposed to start at the end of last week. Perkins said the project is on schedule.
