TEB Approves Funds For Head Start

The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its regular full board meeting on Monday, Aug. 11.

The board voted to approve the food distribution refunding proposal and budget for the period Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026, in the amount of $710,525 for the following service areas: health insurance, travel/mileage, membership and dues, insurance/facility maintenance, utilities-heating/electric, basic telephone, office supplies, postage and freight), vehicle consumables/maintenance, non-cap equipment, contract savings/copier and the nutritional education component.

The Fort Peck Tribes Head Start Pre-K Program was approved to submit a onetime supplemental funding application in the amount of $71,309.37 for Head Start children and families.

Head Start was also approved to submit a continuation application to serve 212 preschool students that meet the criteria for participation and was approved to temporarily use the feeding site in Wolf Point until the new Head Start facility is ready to open.

The board approved the TTP/IRR Program to sell the Gomaco GT-3200 Curb Machine.

Twila Szymanski was approved for reclassification as court administrator in accordance with the Tribes Primary Salary Schedule as a Grade 14, Step 7 at $44.63 per hour.

The purchase of a pipeline sewer camera system kit for the Enterprise Program was approved in the amount of $13,575.99.

The board approved a letter of request for project BI-24-H09 in the amount of $113,000 for scattered housing sites (water, sewer lines, septic and drain fields.

The board accepted the construction bid with Macon Construction for $399,100 for the Frazer Pump Station Access Road Project.

The board approved of the FY 2026 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program proposal and budget in the amount of $982,422.

The FY2026 CSBG refunding proposal and budget were approved in the amount of $104,011.

The board approved the relocation of the Wolf Point TSHIP office back to the Poplar office location.

A new contract with Native Pride, Clayton Snell, was approved in the amount of $29,995.72.

RCSO deputies Maestro Martinez and Joshua Miller were granted tribal arrest authority under the Reciprocal Cross Deputization agreement.

The Tribal Operations Officer was approved to disburse payment to the Law Office of Cher Old Elk for the below described legal services rendered for the month of July in the amount of $12,893.23.

The board voted to approve transfer of the Tribal Security Vehicles from Red Bird Women Center to Tribal Health.
