The 102nd annual Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede on July 10-12 was a great ride, according to local officials.

“I think it was overall really good,” said Jayden Diener, executive director of the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.

She noted that the Wild Horse Ranch Rodeo attracted a good crowd on Wednesday, July 9, and all three nights of the Wild Horse Stampede rodeo went very well.

Diener said the community’s support of purchasing 50/50 tickets during rodeo nights resulted in $7,675 being raised. Those funds will be used to address the Stampede grounds.

“We want to improve the east grandstands on the beer garden side,” she explained. She will be taking quotes for both a new grandstand and repairing the existing ones.

Other highlights of Stampede week included the concerts by Kenny Feidler and Olivia Harms. They were both well attended. Diener expressed appreciation to Cassandra Solberg for stepping in when Harms’ band needed a drummer.

“Everybody seemed to enjoy the concerts on Wednesday and Saturday,” Diener said. “I’ve heard good feedback there.”

Art in the Park attracted a record number of vendors with 32. The bouncy house and slide were big hits for children.

She added that Traci West did an outstanding job running concessions. West is replacing Jeff Presser in that role.

“It went pretty good for my first year being part of the planning and Traci’s first year with concessions. She did a really great job,” Diener said.

The Chamber also announced that Brewfest is returning to Wolf Point. The date is tentatively set for Saturday, Oct. 11.

“We’re in the early planning stages,” Diener said. “It will be more of an Octoberfest with some new, fun events.”
