Rodeo Entertains Crowds In Wolf Point

There was plenty of top performances for the PRCA rodeo during the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede on Thursday through Saturday.

Trevar McAllister of Ronan was the winner in bareback riding with a score of 81. Colt Eck of Redfield, Kan., placed second at 76, Will Norstrom of East Helena took third at 76, Tucker Zingg was fourth at 74.5 and Cole Gerhardt of Mandan, N.D., was fifth at 74.

Sage Newman of Melstone came away with top honors in saddle bronc riding with a score of 86.5. Cooper Lane of Keller, Texas, took second at 84 and Calvin (Brody) Wells placed third at 83.5.

Bo Vocu earned top honors in bull riding with a score of 86.5. Jeff Bertus of Avon, S.D., placed second at 83.

In tie down roping, Hardin’s Trevin Baumann earned first with a time of 9.6 seconds. Dakota Felton of Moutain Home, Texas, placed second at 9.7 seconds. Cole Eiguren of Fruitland, Idaho, and Hobson’s Taten Erickson tied for third at 10.3 seconds.

Scot Kleeman of Killdeer, N.D., finished first in steer wrestling with a time of 4.2 seconds. Glendive’s Ben Ayre placed second at 4.3 seconds and Landon Sivertsen of Ree Heights, S.D., was third at 4.5 seconds. Rounding out the top five were Cyler Dowling of Newell, S.D., at 4.6 and Kade Kinsella of Fort Yates, N.D., at 4.7 seconds.

In team roping, the winning team was Blair Lammers of Hartford, S.D., and Tel Sorenson of Watford City, N.D., at 5.1 seconds. Placing second was the team consisting of Payton Pirrung of Hartford, S.D., and Matt Zancanella of Aurora, S.D., at 5.3 seconds. Tunner Plenty of Gerryowen and Mason Trollinger of Lodge Grass finished third at 5.4 seconds.

LaTricia Duke of Three Rivers, Texas, was the winner in barrel racing with a time of 17.49 seconds. Jessica Routier of Buffalo, S.D., earned second at 17.54 seconds. Miles City’s Tyrice Phalen took third at 17.59 seconds. Poplar’s Heather Crowley placed sixth at 17.66 seconds and Wolf Point’s Laura McPherson was eighth at 17.92 seconds.

Cut Bank’s Dustin Bird was the winner in breakaway roping at 2.7 seconds. Taylor Raupe of Douglas, Kan., placed second at 2.9 seconds. Makenna Ellerman of Sheridan, Wyo., took third at 3.1 seconds.
