Wolf Point Stampede Week Kicks Off With Ranch Rodeo


Maxwell Butte Takes Top Honors At Ranch Rodeo
Maxwell Butte Ranch of Powderville captured top honors at the Wolf Point Wild Horse Ranch Rodeo held at the Marvin Brookman Stadium on Wednesday, July 9.
The team received $10,000 and buckles for taking first place.
Whiteman Cattle of Richey placed second. The team received $6,000 along with knives and sheaths.
Steppler Ranch of Culbertson earned third place. The squad was awarded $4,000 and custom WHRR halters.
The top horse/top hand was Lane Krutzfeldt of Maxwell Butte Ranch.
Cole Reum was the winner of the wild bronc ride.
The ranch rodeo consisted of five competitions. Winners of those events included: Branding: Maxwell Butte Ranch Stray gather/doctoring: Whiteman Cattle Trailer loading: SSSS Ranches Cow milking: Maxwell Butte Ranch Bronc Riding: Maxwell Butte Ranch B& G Construction was the winner of the first annual Weyrauch Memorial Wild Horse Race. The team received $5,385, buckles and coats.
