Poplar Man Dies In Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident

A 52-year-old Poplar male died in a vehicle/pedestrian accident on U.S. Highway 2, mile marker 592, at about 9:53 p.m. on Saturday, July 12.

The pedestrian, identified as Patrick McKay, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a GMC Yukon driven by a 46-year-old Billings female was traveling eastbound on Highway 2 when she attempted to overtake another vehicle. While doing so, the Yukon struck a pedestrian who was walking in the middle of the westbound lane.

There were no injuries to the driver of the Yukon.
