TEB Approves New Hires, Grants
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its regular meeting in Poplar June 23. The board voted to approve the Branch of Corrections to hire David Grainger Jr., Shelby Lezard and Joseph Savior Jr. on permanent appointments.
The family of Louise Smith, Trivian Grainger and Willa Gray Hawk were approved to receive a star quilt and $500.
The language and culture department was approved to accept the University of Kansas Center for research’s grant in the amount of $10,000. The board also approved application materials for the American buffalo restoration on tribal lands in Montana and Wyoming grant.
The Greater Yellowstone Coalition has awarded the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes total of $209,500 to purchase farm equipment for the buffalo ranch and to support the Yellowstone bison.
The Tribal Operation Officer was approved to disburse payment to Sonosky & Chambers for legal services rendered for the month of April. Elk River Law Office was approved to receive payment for legal services rendered in the month of May.
A contract with AB Staffing Solutions to provide competent and qualified supplemental staffing to the Tribal Health Department was approved.
The board authorized an additional $40,000 to Allyson Kelley and Associates contract for services rendered. The contract will end on Sept. 30.
The board approved and adopted the tribal health care contractor travel policy, including the contract travel request form.
The Tribal Health Department was approved to enter into a coordinator care agreement with Kolstad Eye Clinic.
The next full board meeting is set for July 7.
