Red Bottom Celebration Takes Place In Frazer


The 122nd Red Bottom Celebration was held in Frazer June 19-22. Attendees were treated to a mix of rain and sunshine, as well as a wide array of dance competitions and specials.
Thursday was camping day, featuring a community feed and youth dance. Grand entries were held on Friday and Sunday and twice daily on Saturday.
Justin “Chicken” White was arena director, with help from Marty Reum and emcee Tommy Christian. The latter’s remarks were broadcast on radio frequency FM 90.1 throughout the weekend.
Dance competition categories included fancy, traditional, jingle and grass, with categories for adult women and men, teen girls and boys and junior girls and boys. Prizes paid out ran from $25 in girls and boys categories up to $1,000 for adult men and women categories.
Specials and honorings on Friday night included a tiny tot special sponsored by Paisley Iron Cloud, a candlelight memorial sponsored by Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center and several specials sponsored by the Clark family.
Saturday specials were offered by Courage Crawford, along with dances in honor of Margie Squires and Dolly Lonz.
