Golf Tourney Helps Raise Funds For Health Care

The Northeast Montana Health Services Charitable Foundation held its 28th annual benefit golf tournament at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Club on Saturday, June 21.
The tournament featured 21 four-player teams. All proceeds went to the foundation’s mission of providing quality health care in the area.
“The tournament usually gives us a good start, but we can always use other donations,” Brandi Wilkinson, the foundation’s executive director, said about fund-raising efforts this year.
This year’s goal is to raise about $16,000. Funds will help in the following areas: Physical/occupational therapy (sensory assessments, behavior assessments, a portable therapy table), Faith Lutheran Home (two electric men’s shavers, a rolling standing hair dryer and transport van repairs), obstetrics/gynecology (two delivery carts and two bassinets) and Poplar nursing (a portable bladder scanner).
“There are a lot of volunteers, which is great,” Wilkinson said of the golf tournament on Saturday. “There’s a lot of NEMHS employees, which I am very pleased about.”
She thanked Dennis Heser for taking care of the cooking. Meals included polish dogs and chips for lunch and steaks, baked potatoes and cheesecake for dinner. Faith Lutheran Home’s kitchen staff provided maple bars for breakfast.
A special door prize was golf course manager Troy Halverson with the donation of washing and detailing five golf carts and five vehicles. High Plains Motors offered $20,000 off a new pickup for a hole in one on the eighth hole.
