Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

 

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 99 calls from June 2 to June 9.

The calls included the following: June 2

Deputies received a report of theft in Culbertson. An owner of a pickup said someone stole the amplifier from the vehicle, which he hasn’t driven in about a month.

June 3

Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice, the Poplar Fire Department, ambulance services, Montana Highway Patrol and Fish, Wildlife and Parks at the site of a fatal crash at the Missouri River involving a juvenile male.

June 5

Deputies arrested Gy Salve-vold, 44, of Culbertson on a warrant.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ on the report of an assault outside of Poplar. The reporting party suffered injuries to his face. The suspect left the house on foot. Law enforcement couldn’t locate the suspect, who perhaps received a ride from friends.

June 6

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Drug Enforcement Agency and MHP with a search warrant in Poplar’s city limits. FPTDLJ arrested an adult female.

June 7

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ on the report of a fight at the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar. FPTDLJ arrested a male and transported him to tribal jail.

June 8

Deputies responded to Poplar for a report of an adult female yelling and throwing items in a backyard. Damages included a broken back window of a vehicle. The reporting party filed charges for damages and trespassing. The suspect was located two blocks away. Theada Jones, 28, was charged with crim- inal trespass, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, two; Poplar city limits, 31; Poplar rural, two; Poplar FPHA all other, seven; Poplar FPHA airport addition, six; Culbertson town, nine; Culbertson rural, five; Bainville town, two; Bainville rural, nine; Froid town, one; Froid rural, one; Brockton town, six; Brockton rural, 12; Fort Kipp, five; Frazer, one; total, 99.
