TEB Sends Letter To Congress
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its regular full board meeting May 26 in Poplar. The board approved the submittal of the 2026 Indian Highway Safety grant application.
The board also approved the 2025 Revised Model Gaming Ordinance as the Official Ordinance Governing Class II and Class III gaming operations.
The TTP/IRR Program was approved to request that the Montana Department of Transportation change the speed limit on U.S. Highway 2 east of Poplar near the Dollar Store for the safety of the community and public.
Steffie Eagle Boy and Boyd’s Fireworks Stand were granted licenses to sell fireworks starting June 1 through July 4 at 11:59 p.m.
The IT department was approved to collaborate with the enrollment office and to work with in house counsel Cher Old Elk on reviewing and completing the MOU between the Fort Peck Tribes and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection regarding the enhanced tribal identification card program.
The donation of a buffalo was approved for the Veterans Affairs program.
The board passed a resolution opposing the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” including a letter of opposition to the Montana Congressional Delegation urging their strong opposition to Medicaid and SNAP cuts proposed in the FY2026 federal budget.
Sarah Figueroa was approved for the Assiniboine enrollment committee.
TEB is the duly elected body representing the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Reservation and is empowered to act on behalf of the Tribes. All actions shall be adherent to provisions set forth in the 1960 Constitution and By-Laws.
